Barry and I got out the first time since returning from Cape May late Thursday.
We did Layhill, finding fair numbers of White-throated and Swamp Sparrows,
both Kinglets, lots of Myrtles and Yellowthroats and a couple of late-ish
Black-throated Blues. But it is obvious that the bulk of the sparrows are
not yet in.

I won't say too much about Cape May on this list, other than we had lots of
Red-breasted Nuthatches, as well as Pine Siskin and Purple Finch, so keep your
fingers crossed for later this year! Also, someone had reported Red Crossbills
in Cape May Co. earlier in the week. Certainly the early signs are good for
winter finches.
