Sue, Based on your (very good)description I would say it sounds like a Blackpoll in fall plumage. Though I have not specifically seen this species wag/pump/dip its tail, I have seen Nashville's. The warbler guide says that the eastern subspecies almost never does this, but I have noted it on at least 2 occassions. Rick Sussman Warblerick@aol.com
