Because of the upcoming trip on saturday I thought I'd post to the list about conditions at the farm. Please remember it is PRIVATE PROPERTY and you need to go with a Howard member that has an access letter. It is going to be VERY wet (I was soaked to almost my waist and my high boots had about 1 gallon of water in each one- I don't plan to lead the group INTO the pond though, like I mistakenly blundered into). There are no paths and walking is strenuous)! This morning we found 200 SAVANNAHS, 25-30 SWAMPS, 20-30 SONGS, 2 CHIPPING, 10 WHITE-THROATS and 1 JUNCO. There were 2 MARSH WRENS, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN, 1 GREEN HERON, 80 PIPITS, 1 BOBLINK, 1 MEADOWLARK, 1 NORTHEN HARRIER, 1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER. Bonnie Ott p.s. remember Homewood RD is closed and there is a detour.
