After my very slow Monday at FH Mary Jo Betts talked me into going there again this morning. I was glad I listened to her since we found a beautiful sining male PURPLE FINCH. There was constant activity and the sparrows were back up. We got the chance to study a lovely LINCOLNS and listen to its little "chup chup" note. SWAMPS were in good numbers and Font Hill is a great place to get practice in on them. Some warblers around with BLACKPOLL the most common and a very puzzling female/juv PINE that had me stumped at first. A call to DAVID HOLMES and he helped me puzzle it out. The bird was as brown and unmarked as any warbler I've ever seen with an immense white eye ring. WHITE-EYE VIREO hanging around also. Bonnie Ott
