Folks

I cleared a milestone. I had a single Snow Bunting at Allen's Fresh on
Saturday, October 30. This bird is likely to appear down here in any good
invasion year but, according to the Yellow Book, has never been documented
in Charles County before. The Snow Bunting represents my 250th Charles
County bird species.

I was able to quickly get Greg Miller on the bird.in flight. She landed
briefly in the gravel road then took off north over the field. We searched
but never relocated the animal. Greg reported seeing two more later in the
day.

The fields had at least 100 Sanvannah Sparrows, a Greater Yellowleg, three
Snipe, and two Pectoral Sandpipers. The flats had lots of CAGO, one Least
Sandpiper, eight Killdeer, and 13 Dunlin.

For Phil's benefit: Later on Saturday when I returned home, I had two Pine
Siskins show up at my feeder in Waldorf. Thr RBNU continues to collect
peanuts and store them for the winter.

A happy day birding.
