We saw the grebe today at about 11am. It was about 50 yds north of the north end of the National Seashore parking lot, where there is a trail (not wooden slats) over the sand dunes. The bird was tough to keep in view because of the heavy wave action. It was overcast and we never got closer to the bird than about 100 yds. It was definately a large grebe of the Western/Clarks type. Several other local observers have said it is a Western. The European Wigeon was still at the west Ocean City pond.
