Phil and others -
Even over here on the Eastern Shore a few Pine Siskins have shown up at
last! First of the season in my yard was at my feeder this morning with
the usual 15 Goldfinches. Loons and Ruddy Ducks are feeding in Leeds Creek
out our viewing windows. Red-breasted Nuthatches are also present.
We were away the last half of October, so there may have been earlier
Siskin visits here that we did not see. Our visit was to Aurora, IN (close
to Cincinnati), and over there we saw Pine Siskins and Red-breasted
Nuthatches several times, along with lots of nice sparrows including Fox,
White-crowned, Swamp, Song, White-throated, Field and Chipping.
