Quickie river survey from near Sotterly from
7:50-8:00am produced only Common Loons and a few Ruddy
Ducks and Mute Swans.  Pretty quiet.  Waters calm and
good visibility.

Better was the newly mowed soybean field across from
my driveway (south side of Steer Horn Neck Rd about
1.4 miles east of Rt 245).  This morning it had scads
of Killdeers, Horned Larks, Meadowlarks, Starlings,
and Mourning Doves.  It may have other goodies like
pipits or longspurs or snow buntings, but I did not
have time to check as I was already late for work.
