Major Duties: This is a senior biologist position located in the North American Waterfowl and Wetlands Office (NAWWO) having collateral duties within the Migratory Bird Management Office (MBMO). The incumbent will have lead responsibility for guiding and coordinating national and international migratory bird conservation initiatives, and will be expected to provide technical expertise to executive-level administrators. Prominent duties will include lead coordination responsibilities for the U.S. Steering Committee of the North American Bird Conservation Initiative, national oversight of the Partners in Flight neotropical bird conservation initiative, facilitation of emerging Joint Venture partnerships, liaison for activities related to the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, and coordination involving the U.S. Shorebird Plan and North American Colonial Waterbird Plan. Duties will also include development of annual budgets, appropriate conservation policy, planning guidance, and effective communication to diverse audiences.
