Just thought you all might like to know that the Peterson Multimedia Guide - North American Birds is in the sale bins at Staples. I picked it up tonight for $8.79 + tax. As a comparison, ABA has it listed for $64.95 (and please don't tell me I should have bought it at ABA). I played with it a little tonight, and while I wouldn't call it an outstanding disk, it does have some very nice photos (including one of a Variegated Flycatcher, FWIW), and voice recordings for many/most species. It looks like it has some nice learning tools for beginners, too (and no comments from the Paul O'Brien peanut gallery that perhaps I should spend some time on that part of the disc). Later.
