Last night I went out on my roof (I'm an apartment dweller) to put seed out for the Mourning Doves, anticipating they would be up for breakfast before me. It was a clear night, unusually starry for close-in Georgetown. As I was looking up to enjoy the stars, I saw a string of lights approaching overhead. Well, a V of lights. That's what it looked like, VERY visible yellow objects in the sky at 10:30 pm -- they actually looked lit up. I ran for my binoculars just to confirm they were bird-shaped; couldn't discern much else. Is this "lighted" appearance typical for night-migrating geese (or whatevers?) Or is it reflected lights of the city?
