This morning at Hughes Hollow in Montgomery County, MD I saw a =
VIRGINIA RAIL. It was at the same spot as reported last week- in the SW =
corner of the second impoundment on the right.

On the way back from there I stopped at Riley's Lock. On the river, =
visible from the aqueduct/bridge, was an OLDSQUAW mixed in with a =
handful of Buffleheads. It did not have a long tail. =20

Other birds of interest at Hughes Hollow:

** Bald Eagle (imm.)
** 6 woodpecker species (alas, no Red-headed. Has anyone seen any RHWP =
in the Montgomery County area recently? Black Hill? Sycamore Landing? =
Am I just having bad luck or are they making themselves scarcer these =
days?)
** Brown Creepers (3 or 4)
** Winter Wrens (2 near the parking lot)
** Fox Sparrows (in the fields to the left of the main path beyond the =
impoundments)
** Rusty Blackbirds (2 near the Virginia Rail)
