No closeouts on McMynas (Starlings). No on Burger
Kinglets (House Sparrows). No on Urban Falcon (Rock
Dove). The no closeouts is due to pathetic counts for
Talbot, Caroline, Anne Arundel (my worst county--it's
ALWAYS on the way to somewhere else), and Carroll
counties. I also own pretty miserable 1999 counts in
Kent, Frederick, and Washington counties.
Amazingly, these few counties are all missing
DIFFERENT very easy birds. Aargh. In a single day,
it would be feasible for me to close out quite a few
birds. I may do so before yearend with a lull in
rarities and a lack of initiative to bird the best
locations (which I find myself doing too often). For
now, though, it's MORE surprising the birds I'm
MISSING. Oh, well.
Maybe I just don't have a knack for those common
birds... <grin>
