I went for a quick jog on the path (Paint Branch Trail?) between Randolph Rd. in
Silver Spring and MLK Park. On my return trip, I got a stitch in my side, had
to slow to a walk, and was therefore able to witness an exciting array of birds.
While standing in ONE location in the middle of the path for less than 5
minutes, I watched and listened to:

2 Pileated Woodpeckers (hanging out together)
2 Downy Woodpeckers
1 Red-bellied Woodpecker
2 White-breasted Nuthatches
1 Northern Cardinal
1 White-throated Sparrow
1 Turkey Vulture
1 Carolina Chickadee

The rest of my time along the path I also saw and/or heard a flock of ~30
Juncos, 2+ Carolina Wrens, a possible Hairy Woodpecker, more chickadees and
cardinals, and a Tufted Titmouse. Imagine what more I could've seen if I'd had
binoculars with me?!

I didn't get as much physical exercise as I had planned, but my spirit sure
feels more "fit" now!
