Hi all, As I was about to get in to my car yesterday afternoon, Dec. 7, at about 4:20 pm, I saw a Turkey Vulture heading west over downtown Bethesda. As I looked up I noticed a second one, then far to the north (for the unaided eye) I noted three more. As I stood there, beside my car, I noticed another few coming in from the west, sailing and flapping, and then the fun began: a group of four was followed by many others, until at one point 16 Turkey Vultures were in sight, all heading from east to west as the sun dropped ever lower in the sky. buildings, and likely over the northern edge of the downtown area, floating over the National Institute of Health and Navy Medical Center campuses. I have never seen so many vultures at one time over Bethesda! If I had been in my office, I am sure the sight would have been quite compelling. Best, Rob Hilton robert@csa.com Bethesda, Md.
