Dear Friends,

I set up my scope to look at the moon at its perogee near the winter 
solstice.  It was all I expected, and more.  Three birds more, to be 
precise.  As I gazed, three waterfowl sped in front of the face of the moon. 
  I was surprised, and they shot by so fast that I am not sure what they 
were, but they looked like loons, and they were flying North.  I was 
delighted to see them.

Now, at the end of the year, I want to thank all here whose reports guided 
me to great birds, and all whose reports simply brightened my days.  I wish 
you great holidays, and a wonderful year to come.
