I had the pleasure of escorting a group from Frederick County around the
lake at Centennial Park, Columbia, this morning. The species total was 48.
Highlights were:

Common Loon - 7 on the water, 31 overhead
Pied-Billed Grebes - 2
Double-Crested Cormorant - 1
Ring-Necked Duck - 6
Osprey - 2
Sharp-Shinned Hawk - 1
Eastern Phoebe - 2
Northern Rough-Winged Swallow - 3
Barn Swallow - 1
Golden-Crowned Kinglet - 2
Ruby-Crowned Kinglet - 1
Brown Thrasher - 3
Yellow-Rumped Warbler - 5+
Pine Wabler - 7-8 (all in one flock, signing in the rain!)
Eastern Towhee - 1
Fox Sparrow - 1 (heard singing, never seen)

After lunch I ventured out to Triadelphia. From Brighton Dam I saw
12 Common Mergansers, and 2 Loons. At Greenbridge, I saw 5 Loons, 5 DC
Cormorants, and 1 Red-Throated Grebe.

Now the sun's finally out, time to see what's in my yard!
