Hi all --

There is still a chance to see LITTLE GULLS at Back River -- we went up this
morning and had at least two and probably three individuals, all above the
Eastern Ave. bridge, off Diamond Pt. Rd., parking at the vacant lot (which
now has no "for sale" sign so perhaps its days are numbered...) One was a
beautiful adult in full summer plumage, and there was one in winter plumage
on the water and, later, another (possibly the same bird but head markings
appeared different to both of us), flying about.

There were about 1500 Bonaparte's Gulls on the river and around the sewage
treatment plant, many are now getting into summer plumage as well. We also
had a lovely Laughing Gull, also in alternate plumage, but no other gulls of
interest.

Driving up to the bridge we had a Sapsucker, as well.

Cheers, Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper
