Hi all this morning I had and errand to do on kent Island
afterwards at about 11:00 am went to Terrapin Park to scan the bay there
were 69 Horned Grebes scattered up and down the coastline from the
cheasapeake bay bridge towards love point . several in Full breeding
plumage. Even though it was mostly cloudy I could see all the way to the
otherside to Sparrows point and downtown Annapolis. but only counted
birds close by in Queen Annes Co . On and near the beach towords the bridge
were 65 Bonaparte's Gulls 2 in complete breeding plumage others in winter
plumage to all stages of molt looked carefull for Black headed, Little or
Franklin's gulls but no luck with that. Other birds there were 1 Male
Goldeneye , Lots of Buffleheads, Mockingbirds, cardinal, Eastern Towhee,
Woodducks 1 male and 1 female, Mute Swan female at a nest and male nearby .
Before leaving home saw a carolina Chickadee carrying some sort of
animal fur to its nestbox for a nice lining . late in the afternoon i
walked in the overgrown grassy field behind my house and had 2 Field
Sparrows , 2 Savannah Sparrows and 2 Possible Vesper Sparrows. I hope
everyone has a very happy Easter. Happy Birding Danny Poet
