Holy Shrikes! It's almost WORLD SERIES time! This year your official MOS World Series of Birding Team, “The Holy Order of Loggerhead Shrikes”, is raising funds for the Maryland/DC Breeding Bird Atlas Project and Pronatura Veracruz, on Saturday, May 15, 2004.
The Maryland/DC Breeding Bird Atlas aims to map the distribution of all breeding bird species in Maryland and DC. Pronatura Veracruz is a non-profit Mexican grass-roots organization, dedicated to conservation of the famed Veracruz River of Raptors and other ecosystems. You can easily pledge online:
www.holyshrikes.com
or via the M.O.S. Web Site: www.mdbirds.org
Most shrikes are solitary predators, but the MOS Shrikes hunt in a pack! The MOS Team will be birding for 24 hours straight in Cape May County, NJ. The team plans to surpass their previous record of 156 species in just one county. Team members are Gordon Gover, John Hubbell, Andy Rabin and Don Simonson. Please visit the team website to learn more and to make a pledge. Contributions are 100% tax deductible. You can pledge an amount per species, or a flat amount. Thank you in advance for your support on behalf of the MOS World Series of Birding Team, the Atlas project and Pronatura Veracruz!
