³WINGED MIGRATION²

In making this Oscar-nominated documentary, teams of pilots and
cinematographers used ultra light aircraft, gliders, helicopters, motorized
parachutes, and hot-air balloons to obtain fantastically close-up footage of
birds in the air and on the ground in all their glory. The result is a
breathtaking film that uniquely captures the beauty, mystery, and epic
proportions of bird migration. Dozens of species are featured, including
various cranes, storks, swans, geese, and albatrosses. Smithsonian
ornithologists Scott Derrickson and Russell Greenberg will comment on the
film and answer questions during an intermission.
