Janet,
I counted 121 asterisks in the Montgomery Cty guide. Additionally, there
are 10 double asterisks indicating that a species has not been a recorded
breeder since 1977. Cannot help you with the titmouse issue but
"timber-doodle" might be good nickname to use in case you see Scolopax
minor.
