Biking to the university this morning (8:30-9:00 am) along
Paint Branch Stream Valley Park, I was stunned to see an
adult Bald Eagle standing on the stream bank not 50 ft away.
S/he stayed around for ~5 mins, giving great views.

Then even more amazing I saw what I'm fairly convinced was a
meadowlark (presumably Eastern) flying over the agricultural
fields. It flew east, realized its mistake, and flew west
out of view (I've never seen a meadowlark around here
before)... The yellow underparts with black bib were plainly
evident. It was a large bird with long pointed bill and
fairly level flight.

Other birds of note this morning included a pair of Eastern
Bluebirds, an Eastern Phoebe, a Field Sparrow, and several
Chipping Sparrows.
