birding Wye Island on Monday morning: not too birdy but observed a pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers in trees right on the road. also saw a yellow-rumped warbler but find of the day for us was a Worm-eating Warbler. this guy was right by the parking area for the Schoolhouse Woods Trail. heard him singing a lot and he finally popped up to give us a look. about mid-day at Blackwater birding was also very slow but we heard lots of pine warblers and saw several. bald eagles of course but only ducks we saw were one pair of northern pintails. we did see blue-winged and green-winged teal near Pickering Creek Audubon Center.
