Blue Mash Nature Trail, Montgomery County, 17 Apr 04, 0730-0930

I added 4 new birds to my BMNT list today: Sharp-shinned Hawk, Broad-winged
Hawk, Solitary Sandpiper and Blue-headed Vireo. The list was started on Feb
8th and it now totals 76 species.

As Walter Ellison stated in a recent post, "look up into that infinite blue
today." The hawks resulted from heeding that advice. I found a kettle of
Broad-winged Hawk (8) and Sharp-shinned Hawk (1) soaring overhead. There
was also a second group of hawks with a couple of accipiters mixed in,
however, they were between the sun and my binos, making identification
difficult. "The Sky is (indeed) Your Friend." Good birding!
