Folks

If you are trying to get me, I am having server problems. It will only allow me to receive nine messages and stops.

The first winter Little Gull was still at Mt. Victoria Estates and adjacent farm fields this AM. Gwen and I got good looks through the scope, but no additional pictures. Mt. Victoria Road connects Rt. 257 at two locations. If you go for this bird, the best way in is from the south point. As my note yesterday said, "from Cobb Island, I took a different route north".

The flock was about 500 birds this AM, and moving around from field to field. I measured the distance from Rt. 257 and at about 1 mile, heading north on Mt. Victoria Road, was when we encountered the flock on the left. They flew across the road to adjacent fields, but no further north then Swindler Rd. Swindler Road is the best advantage in the morning since the sun is behind you. The flock was moving around allot and splitting into two or more groups. I have no way of predicting how long the flock or this bird will stay. We took a shot this AM and were glad we did. The wind my hold it longer. I may check again in the morning, and if successful, make another post.

Using the ADC map of Charles County, the location is map 36, 3-J. Using De Lorme, map 29, B-5.

Regards

George
