Maryland Birds & Birding

Hi Folks,

It's been a while since I've posted, but I'm trying to
get back in the swing of things this Spring. And what
better way than to go see some new birds? My wife and
I will be in Cancun May 1-8, and I'm trying to hook up
with some birders for one or two outings. I contacted
a "Bird Club" down there, but the email reply quoted:
"$50 for the first guide, $50 for the second guide,
$40 for the car and gas, $14 for entrance fees and $16
for a continental breakfast for a total of $170 USD
per person." Some club, eh?!!

We will be spending a day or two on Isla Mujeres and
I'm considering an excursion to the Isla Contoy
sanctuary. Is it a worthwhile trip?

If anyone has suggestions or points of contact down
there, please email me directly at
  Any guidance will be greatly
appreciated!

And since this is a Maryland list and not a Mexico
list, I can report a Blue-headed Vireo and an Eastern
Towhee Sunday morning in my backyard in Gaithersburg.

Thanks and good birding!!!
Rog
