MD OSPREY - 4/26 Patuxent Research Refuge North Tract

8am-11:30 birded Patuxent before the rain started. 37 species observed or heard. mostly the usual suspects plus the following: 2 pair of Wood Duck flyovers; White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireos; Eastern Phoebes; Tree & Barn Swallows; Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher; Eastern Bluebird; Wood Thrushes; Northern Parula, Yellow-rumped, Prairie, Black-and-white, Ovenbird, & Hooded warblers; Baltimore Orioles. another birded reported Prothonotary Warbler during same time period. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were reported at the feeders at the visitor's center. We also had R-B Grosbeaks show up at our feeders here in Millersville (Shipley's Choice) yesterday (3 male and 1 female) and they are here again today 4/27. also had a Common Yellowthroat in back yard yesterday and Wood Thrushes started singing here over the weekend.
