I really don't get many lifers in our area any more but the Sedge Wren has been avoiding me for at least 24 years. Last wed. night I stopped at our local marsh in Elkton and stepped out into the marsh past the road noise, Marsh Wrens were signing. What a wonderful thing for Cecil Co. Then, a Least Bittern was calling with in 20 feet of me, a Maryland life bird for me .I could not find that bird, but I was happy to hear it.
I told Parke John about the spot and we went there this morning. We had Sedge Wren and Marsh Wren singing out there. I think these are Great birds for Cecil, and maybe, even commonly passed by.??
I went on the Cecil Bird Club, Fair Hill trip this morning for a couple of hours. I will let Richard Dunham give that great report.
