This varies from year to year.  In normal rainfall years, the Paper Mill Rd. flats is good from May to October.  This year it may be too wet.  Diamond Point Rd. is usually not good for shorebirds, though one might see Yellowlegs and Killdeer there.  Last year the north end of Lake Roland was quite good; all the rain brought in a great deal of silt and built up the mudflats.  Approx. 10 species of shorebirds were seen at Lake Roland, including a Dowitcher and a Western Sandpiper.  Unfortunately, it is difficult to get to this part of the park at the moment, because the entry bridge is blocked.
