Following up on a report at last week's Patuxent Bird Club/PG Audubon
meeting, I went out to the Fran Uhler Natural Area just north of Bowie this
morning and found 1 adult Yellow-crowned Night Heron. The bird was in the
first wetland area on the left hand side of the entrance road past the
locked gate. Dave Mozurkewich and others have reported Yellow-crowned
Night Herons in this general area in past years as well.

Also present were singing Prairie Warblers, American Redstarts, Indigo
Buntings, a Pileated Woodpecker, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Yellow-billed
Cuckoo, a Great Blue Heron, and a Northern Parula.

Sunday evening in the same location, my brother and I also had a female
Hooded Warbler and a calling Great-crested Flycatcher.
