Hi all,
 A Black-billed Cuckoo was heard calling from the hedgerow yesterday morning
while I was out with the dog. I tried bringing it in with imitations of its
call, but no luck. Last year I drew one in from a couple of hundred yards away,
where it flew to a perch about 50 feet away. Not a terribly uncommon species
here in spring; this was my 11th sighting since 1990 with about half in May,
half in June, one July sighting.
