My records show only three previous sightings of Ruddy Turnstone in Frederick County: 5/27/67, 5/20/68, and 5/21/71, all at Lilypons. On the other hand, there are six previous sightings of Red-necked Phalarope. The phalarope is more of a pond bird than the turnstone. So that makes the turnstone the rarer bird in this case.
> Black-bellied Plover - single bird circled the pond several times, barely into breeding plumage
> Killdeer
> Semi-palmated Plover - about 5
> Ruddy Turnstone - 1
