My DC Rough Winged Swallows must be right on schedule as well. I discovered 5 fledglings sitting on a branch over Rock Creek Park at Pierce Mill on Sunday morning. Some of the little guys were so anxious, they chased their parents around while they were gathering insects. When the flighty fledglings returned to their branch, the remaining fledglings begged from their siblings.

If you go looking for them, they are very noisy and easy to find just south from the main road bridge.

Hi All Yesterday after getting some lunch after leading a trip to Wye
Island for the Mos Conference I decided to do some atlasing in my home
block near Queenstown I soon saw some Rough winged swallows sitting On
an eleclric wire strung between a building and power pole. 2 were
recently fledged birds. Soon the adult birds flew off and returned
bringing food. The youngster flew out to be fed in mid air and returned
to the wire . this was repeated several times while i was looking on .
