To whom it may concern,

Today I received a phone call from a couple in Gaithersburg MD. They found
my name and number through the internet. I'm an Audubon board member in
Williamsport Pennsylvania and I oversee our barn owl project.

"Jamaa and Mike" said they have had a BARN OWL in their back yard for two
days. They have watched it fly and have been able to approach it within several
feet. They are obviously concerned about the bird and said they would
appreciate it if a biologist or Audubon member would come to their home to assess the
situation. They said they have many photographs of the bird and they will
e-mail them to me this evening. Although the bird has flown Jamaa was concerned
that it may be injured and may need attention......she expressed that she
hoped the barn owl would stick around hoped it might nest there sometime. I
don't know anything about the habitat, but my guess is that it is a somewhat urban
area.

Due to the sensitive nature of barn owls I am only going to provide the phone
numbers and e-mail address. You may contact Jamaa and Mike at the following.

Jamaa's phone numbers are (W) 202-693-1965 and (H) 301-963-1625
e-mail is
