One lone Least Sandpiper showed up at the Wetlands of Pickering
Creek Audubon Center yesterday, June 29th. The bird was still there today,
along with about a dozen Killdeer.
One Killdeer has taken over a spot in the center of the Pickering
Creek parking area for a late nest. As of yesterday, her first egg had been
deposited - thus making her eligible for the protection of the wooden
sawhorse that now graces the parking lot.

Atlas confirmations in the St Michaels NE Block yesterday included
Wild Turkey (with four poults), Eastern Phoebe, White-breasted Nuthatch,
Mourning Dove, House Finch, Horned Lark and Blue Grosbeak. As of 6/29, a
total of 78 species have been seen in that block, with 37 of them being
confirmed.
