Hi Folks!

Ravens in downtown Baltimore are hardly news, but this is the off-season.
While heading to the boat for the Hart-Miller Island trip today [see Gene
Scarpulla's post] I was astonished to find a COMMON RAVEN along Back River Neck
Road, south of Essex. If someone had asked me what birds might be expected, less
expected, or simply rare but regular in this area on this date, a Common
Raven would never have entered my mind. The only Common Raven I have ever had in
Baltimore was in October 1979 or 1980 at the St.Timothy's Banding Station near
Stevenson, where the bird was seen for a few days.

Matt Hafner reminded me that this needs to go to the MD/DC Records Committee.
I did have the chance to take one digital photo and a short video.

Good Birding!

Jim
