       I also own a pair of Swift Ultralites.  A couple of years ago, I
slipped on some black ice and dropped them.  They hit with a thud.  There was good
news and bad news associated with this event.  The good news was that I saw
twice as many birds.  The bad news was that I didn't see any of them very well.
       I sent the binocs back to Swift and they repaired them quickly (~ 3
weeks) for ~ $50.  You may want to call them and ask whether they would consider
cleaning them  for you.
