This morning I observed two SNOWY EGRETS foraging in the marsh at
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in NE D.C. One of them may have been an
immature. They largely segregated themselves from the half-dozen Great
Egrets that were also present.

Shorebirds are also moving through the aquatic gardens. This morning the
mudflats held Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Killdeer, and Spotted
Sandpipers. One accipiter, possibly a Sharp-shinned Hawk, cruised over
the marsh. Other highlights included a singing White-eyed Vireo and two
Green Herons.
