I received a call from Dave Smith.  He saw an adult male Rufous Hummingbird at his feeder yesterday (8-6-04).  This was in Woodbine, Carroll County.  Dave said he heard the bird first, recognized it as something different, so he watched the feeder closely and it appeared six feet away from him at the feeder.  He saw it come a few more times to the feeder.  I visited there today but the feeder was being actively guarded by an adult male Ruby-throated Hummingbird and the only other visitors were female Rubies.  Dave is away for a week now so the feeder will not be watched very much.
