I just had an adult Northern Goshawk fly by my window in the Wildewood
Office Park at the end of Cottonwood Parkway; a heavily wooded area 6
miles NW of NAS Patuxent River . It was a large accipter (first
thought it
was a red-tail color morph but tail was too long) with dark cap, dark
gray back and top of wings and light barred chest clearly visible in
great light for 5 - 10 seconds.
Time of sighting 10:00 a.m. EDST
Weather: Partly cloudy with easterly 10-15 kt. winds
Temp: 74 degrees
