Bob,
   Your kinglet sighting is not unusual, but it is on the early side.  You are just on the leading edge of the Ruby-crowned Kinglet migration.  As always, I checked the Yellow Book first before replying.  September 12 is right at the beginning of the solid line on the graph.  Where the graph is dashed would be an unusual sighting, where it is dotted would be extraordinary.
