Glen,

Often Blackpolls have limited yellow on the legs.  It can be confined
to the bottoms of the feet.  A bander at the Allegany Front Observatory
at Dolly Sods, WV once told me that she remembers them by the phrase
..."Yellow sole - Black Poll".  Sorry I don't know the Birding reference
off-hand.

So my question is how reliable of a field mark is
the leg color in separating immature Bay-Breasted and Blackpoll
warblers?
        Also, I seem to recall an article (maybe in Birding?) that
tackled
this ID problem.  Does anyone know what issue this was in?
