Dear Ospreyers,
Lively visible migration this morning in Patterson Park. Being on a hilltop this is a good location to watch migrants flying over. Small flocks of robins, blue jays and flickers were flying due west this morning rather than their usual direction (SW) over the past month. Rounded counts are approximate and are probably underestimates as I would have missed many as I walked around looking for migrants in the trees. Highlights were the raptors, which were hunting birds low among the trees and gave great views in most cases. Species and numbers are listed below:
