Folks

A few yard birds of note visited today in our Waldorf, MD property. They were:

Red-shouldered Hawk - adult hunting birds or mammals. Maybe the same one of the two that stayed around most of last winter. Photo opportunities infiltrate my head.

Black Vultures - eight over head migrating. Two Turkey Vultures much lower.

Male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker eating peanut butter. I hope he stays. I got a nice picture last year. Can't have enough good pictures. The other woodpeckers around today were Red-bellied, Downy, Hairy, and Flicker.

Red-breasted Nuthatch - female, photographed. Stayed all day eating Black-oiled Sunflower Seed. Several White-breasted Nuthatches visited regularly as well. If only a Brown-headed would show.

Several American Robins eating the ripe poke berries.

Chipping Sparrow adult - one.

Song Sparrow - chipping just down the road.

White-throated Sparrow - also first of the season at the house to show itself.

Dark-eyed Junco - first of the season at the house.

Ruby-crowned Kinglet - maybe two active little animals, one singing occasionally.

The Lincoln's Sparrow nor the House Wren did not return today.

Regards

George
