Chris Starling, Jim Brighton and myself did some birding in Saint Mary's
County yesterday. The highlights were Golden Plover and Kelp Gull. Three
Golden Plovers were on the north side of Long Neck Road, as well as a
Red-headed Woodpecker. Another Red-headed Woodpecker was at the point, at
Point Lookout State Park. Also present around the point was a Merlin,
Osprey, Pine Warbler, all three Scoters, Gannet, Brown Pelicans, both Loons,
Horned Grebes, and a House Sparrow. The Kelp Gull was at Sandgates as
expected.

Hans

PS- Norm, Myrlte Warbler numbers were low, really looking forward to this
weekend on Assateague!
