I was on my way out the door this morning to fill the feeder when I saw
there was something in it. I grabbed my binoculars and saw one Pine
Siskin eating all by his lonesome. It didn't seem at all concerned that
I had opened the door and nearly freaked out trying to find my
binoculars. It just sat there for a good five minutes checking me out
from time to time. It finally left when it heard three Blue Jays
approaching. So I'm still getting a Siskin here and there. I have only
seen one Chipping Sparrow in the past few days (Thursday, I think). But
the Goldfinches are still here hogging the feeders several times a day.
And I see new Purple Finches everyday.

I've been meaning to mention this for anyone who passes by Crystal
Grottoes on Shepherdstown Pike at all. There is a Belted Kingfisher on
the phone line over a creek across the highway from Crystal Grottoes
most of the time when I pass by. I saw him diving last week sometime.
That was a treat. It prompted me to get another pair of binoculars for
the car. :)
