Saturday the 13th, Jim Brighton and myself walked the north end of
Assateague Island as part of the Rarity Roundup. While not finding anything
too rare we did turn up four Common Eiders on the south side of the jetty at
the Ocean City inlet. During both the trip up and back we were accompanied
by a group of twenty-one Snow Buntings. We managed to turn up forteen
'Ipswich' Sparrows on the walk back, they turned out to be our most common
sparrow for the day.

On Sunday the 14th, Zach Baer and I found a Short-eared Owl on the shell
road just north of the Assateague State Park parking area. The bird perched
in the open for a minute or two before dissapearing.
