I saw the Red-throated Loon at Black Hill Regional Park first reported by
Bob Ringler on Thursday.
Hi all,
Another word on this loon. Though we first read about it here on MDOsprey
from Bob Ringler's report, it is my understanding that it was first seen on
Wednesday, Nov. 17 by Denise Gibbs (naturalist at Black Hill) when she did her
waterfowl survey that day. Sally Ann Waldschmidt accompanied Denise to help
scout for the MOS trip there yesterday, and reported it to me Friday evening
via e-mail. It was seen midway between the Rt. 121 bridge and the dam.
Maybe Rob or Denise Gibbs can offer us more info on this sighting, and any
others that Denise may have had over the years here for this species? Some
sightings may have fallen through the cracks?
