A few years ago there was a Silver Gull photographed in southern NJ of
questionable origin.

Hi Everybody (and Helen),

I can't vouch for what the folks saw in Wilmington on the 20th, but the only
"Silver Gull" I know about is found in Australia and New Zealand. I don't
know of any vagrancy track record for the species, although it is abundant
Down Under. If it really was the genuine article perhaps it escaped from one
of the major zoos in the region.

Good Birding,
